A lot of beautiful music: thanks to Palermo Classica, throughout the winter and until the beginning of spring it will be possible to listen to sixteen amazing artists, and discover with them the most intimate musical secrets of Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky and Liszt. The billboard, put together by Girolamo Salerno, explores three great composers, among the most beloved of piano music of all times: from their works a program has been put together that combines “Passion and impetus” as the title of the festival states.
The first concert will take place on Sunday December 16th in the former church of San Matteo dei Crociferi in the Kalsa district. On the scene Dinara Klinton, a Ukrainian pianist who will perform 12 intimate “Transcendental Studies S. 139” by Franz Liszt, the timid and delicate “Nocturnes, Waltzes and Dances” by Tchaikovsky and the impetuous “Prelude Op.23 No. 4 and No. 5” by Rachmaninov.
The program, featuring mostly female artists, counts big names such as Sofia Vasheruk, Aleksandra Kaspera, Oxana Shevchenko, Suzana Bartal, Axia Marinescu and Kristina Miller.
On the evening of February 15, “Camera Rock” is an interesting “off topic”. This night you’ll have the chance to enjoy a synthesis experiment between two worlds who couldn’t apparently be more different: the classic and the modern. The vocalist Giuliana Di Liberto will join a quintet of string and piano players, composed by classical and jazz musicians, to perform music by Pink Floyd, Coldplay, Radiohead, Sting, Queen, Muse, David Bowie, arranged in a refined manner.
The concerts will always start at 7.15pm (except for the concert with Suzana Bartal, 12 January, and Camera Rock, both at 9 pm).
Tickets (from € 8.50 to € 14.50, season tickets starting at € 50) can be purchased at the Accademia Palermo Classica in via Paolo Paternostro, 94; online on the CiaoTickets.com circuit; the same evening of the concert at the Church of San Mattia dei Crociferi.
